COVID-19 POLICIES
[Draft] SPACE IN THE GAP COVID-19 POLICIES
In light of COVID-19 and in an effort to keep our shared facilities safe we are implementing the following policies. We are striving for safe income opportunities for arts and culture participants, property owners, and government during these challenging times.
In the short term during the winter of 2020-2021, most of our events are designed to be experienced safely outdoors and adhere to social distancing policies. We fully support the appropriate government agency guidance.
What We’re Doing to Keep Everyone Safe
Artists and Participants
Outdoor Events
In early 2021 as the pandemic is still a threat, we’re focusing most of our programming to include things we can show outside around our locations. Window galleries, outdoor markets, murals, projections, and other relatively safe presentations will be the focus of our short-term production.
Virtual Attendance
We will add virtual galleries and virtual events for late Winter and Spring programming.
Masks Are Mandatory
We have a strict mandatory mask policy for everyone visiting our space. Mask/face covering is absolutely mandatory inside the gallery and to attend all events. We fully support the city, country, and state requirements for masks and other operations.
Limited Gallery Visitors
We’re limiting the number of guests we’re allowing inside the gallery space at any given time. No more than 6 visitors will be allowed and a one-out/one-in policy. This policy, appropriately scaled to the local space, seems to have worked well in museums and galleries.
Social Distancing
We require all visitors and staff to maintain a minimum of 6ft distance between anyone not in their household.
Keeping It Clean
We have provided hand sanitizer dispensers at the entryway and exit of our gallery and encourage visitors to practice positive public hygiene. Our staff and team are all diligent about ensuring a strict level of cleanliness and any shared surfaces are regularly disinfected.
Staff Testing
Space in the Gap Health Screening & Standards
All Space in the Gap employees working on-site are required to complete a daily Health Screening Self Questionnaire prior to being cleared for work. Employees are asked NOT to come to work if they:
- Test positive or suspect exposure or a COVID-19 diagnosis of themselves or a household member.
- Have experienced a fever in the past 48 hours.
- Are experiencing two or more symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19 other than fever that cannot be attributed to a preexisting condition or injury (cough, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, loss of taste or smell, muscle or body aches, etc.).
- Have been notified of exposure to COVID-19 and are under a mandatory quarantine period as instructed by a State or local Health Department.
- We require the same of vendors, visitors and clients and ask that you please not come to a Pace location if any of the above apply to you or someone in your household. If necessary, we would be very happy to reschedule your visit.Everyone associated with the space is regularly tested and understands that should they ever develop symptoms they should not come to the space. We absolutely require that our new volunteers or staff quarantine for 2 weeks before arriving and that they further their quarantine until being tested.
We’re Serious About Your Safety
Visitors acting in any way that disrupts the health and safety of other visitors, staff, or volunteers, or puts the artwork or facilities at risk, will be asked to leave immediately.
